Current Projects

Friendly Fellas

Staffed by volunteers and meeting 4 times a month at the popular Light House Coffee Shop in Sheerness. A place where men can come together to share their experiences, seek advice from their peers, and find support. Providing a variety of opportunities for men to build a sense of camaraderie and enjoy each other's company. 

Book N Brunch

Our popular Book n Brunch Club at the Wellbeing Hub in Rushenden on the last Tuesday of the month, is on temporary hold at the moment. We are hoping to restart the Club again soon, or incorporate the book discussion into our regular monthly Friendly Spaces sessions. Please check back as details will be updated as soon as we have more information.

Digital Skills Sessions

Volunteers, Nick and Peter, from the Digital Kent team join us regularly, at all our groups to offer help and advice to enable our members to get the most out of their phones and digital devices. Bring along any of your digital devices or questions to our regular Friendly Spaces

Craft Club

Get your creative juices flowing at our new Craft Club at the Wellbeing Hub in Rushenden. Suitable for all abilities. Sessions to include decoupage, model making, sewing, yarns and wool projects, jewellery making, mosaics, beach crafts and more! There will be a small charge to cover supplies.

Coffee Morning

Join us on the 2nd Tuesday of every month for a coffee morning with our friends at Infinity Age UK Sheppey. Meet new friends, chat over a cuppa and join in with some fun games. The perfect way to pass the morning.

Gardening Club

Services

 Friendly Voice Calls

A service for those experiencing the effects of loneliness due to being housebound or for those feeling disconnected and isolated from their community. Delivering regular welfare phone calls to help sign post to local activities and support within the local area.

Pedometer Challenge 

Small Pod Walks

Join Alisha for our hugely popular six week Pedometer Challenge. Meet up together with other participants for short fun walks, to remain active, maintain your daily steps and feel physically, as well as mentally, stronger.

Sharing Library

Reading has been proven to reduce stress, aid relaxation and boost mood. With a huge volumn of books to suit all tastes we regularly drop off selections directly to our members to read at home. Jigsaws and DVDs also available to borrow.

Inclusive Book Club

Borrow one of our tablets and receive free books if you find yourself having to isolate due to Covid. Join in our online virtual book club. Access to this service is through a referral from the Citizens Advice Bureau

Kindle Loan Service

Access to our Book Club even if physically unable to attend, with the loan of a Kindle and books for up to 6 months. Funded by Medway Voluntary Action. If you're housebound, and feel that you could benefit from this great project, to help you keep connected, get in touch.

Mini Bus

COMING SOON

Free pick up service for our members to attend activities and walks. Ensuring that even those living in remote areas or without transport, can stay connected. Use as a mobile library and hub when distributing PPE kits and latest COVID advice.

Within a safe and welcoming environment, members are encouraged to socialise and build confidence through shared activities, coffee mornings, demonstrations and visits from guest speakers

 Community Walks

Join us, with our friends from Stepping Out, for scenic, sociable, rejuvenating walks at beautiful venues throughout the county, from stately homes and gardens, country parks, lakes, National Trust properties, Coastlines and festivals.

Book Clubs

Borrow a free book each month to read at home. Then join us in person on the last Tuesday of each month from 10.45am for a fun quiz and some lively discussion, followed by a group activity related to the books theme/subject matter.

Get involved and remain connected as we Live Stream directly from our Group Settings to our online members and those at home. Follow along Zoom tutorials, with free recourses so that no one has to feel left out.
