Summer 2024

Hi everyone ! Karon here with a quick update of what we've been up to over the summer.

Since joining Friendly Faces Of Kent back in March, I have been having a lovely time meeting and getting to know you all in our groups !

You have all been so nice and welcoming to me and I thank you all

Today's group was in Trinity Hall in Sheerness and Adrian from Kent police came in to do a talk on Rural Safety.

He gave some tips on keeping safe and some free items for you to take home.  Everyone enjoyed the talk and said it was informative!

We also had time for our Raffle. Lots of tea coffee and of course

Adrian is coming to our Sittingbourne group which is held in the Methodist Church Hall in the High Street on Thursday 9th May.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Karon with our volunteers, Hina and Michael at the most recent Friendly Space at Teynham.

A big Friendly Faces of Kent welcome to our newest member of staff,  Karon, who's taking over from Cheryl, as our new Activities Coordinator. Many of you will already know Karon from her work at the Light House Café at the Hope Street Centre in Sheerness. Or will have met her on one of our regular Walk n Talks. We're excited to have her onboard and part of the team.

What a great evening at our After Dark Social Buffet Evening. A chance to chat and make friends over food.

A beautiful buffet prepared by the lovely Karon from Hope Street Centre Lighthouse Cafe. Fun was had by all who enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, free raffle and social foodie quiz.

Thank you to everyone that came along.

The Friendly Fellas After Dark Buffet  and prepare by the lovely team from the Light House Cafe in Hope Street. They were also joined by Keith from Imago who spent time chatting with the guys and is looking forward to coming back to see where he might be able to help the guys.

In addition the Fellas were presented with a goodie’s hamper from the local Asda Community Team.

Thanks to Justine from Scvs (Swale community volunteer service) who popped in to chat with our Freiendly Fellas. We're grateful for his support in facilitating the funding that allowed our After Dark Project to take place.
